Engineered for the future

Resource-saving use

We use robust, tried and tested components in our hardware solutions to ensure they perform reliably for many years in arduous tunnelling conditions. An internal diagnostic tool continuously monitors each device’s status and provides a detailed analysis of all connected components enabling site personnel to quickly diagnose faults, localise, and independently rectify problems. Ease of repair has been designed into the devices by our in-house development team ensuring that parts that are prone to wear and tear can be easily and safely replaced.

Sustainable spare parts management

Efficient spare parts management enables us to offer targeted resource savings. For example, data boxes in the microtunnelling navigation system are largely identical, which reduces the number of spare parts that need to be kept in stock. They are readily available at our branches, significantly reducing the delivery time from Bruchsal to the construction site. The open interfaces of the VMT systems provide further savings potential by ensuring compatibility with numerous other systems, simplifying the infrastructure.

Future-oriented development

Modular design allows for the updating or replacing of individual components rather than the entire system. In addition to maintenance and the availability of spare parts, we guarantee the availability of software upgrades throughout the product life cycle. Hardware can also be modified and expanded anytime to meet new requirements. We also future proof security.
VMT.connect provides an independent WLAN network through which all VMT components communicate. This eliminates the risk of interference signals and their potential impact on navigation.

Hardware made by VMT

Our systems include a wide range of hardware components, which, together with our software solutions, enable the precise positioning and control of machines during tunnelling. In addition to our in-house developments, such as control cabinets, sensors, consoles, and system cables, we source components from selected suppliers who offer fully compatible, high-quality, complete solutions.

Hardware components play an important role in surveying and navigation in tunnelling. Choosing the right hardware enables innovative ideas to become sustainable solutions engineered for the future.
