The purpose of TUnIS Navigation MTHydroLevel is to determine the exact position of the tunnelling machine for drives between 250 m and 400 m in length at any time and calculate deviations from the reference alignment.

With increasing tunnel length, refractory influences can have a negative effect on the accuracy of laser navigation. According to our experience, this happens when tunnel length exceeds approx. 250m. In order to provide maximum precision despite this, an additional system is necessary.
TUnIS Navigation MTHydroLevel expands the field of application of the basic TUnIS Navigation MTLaser by upgrading the system with an electronic hydro level for calculating the vertical machine position. Depending on the project configuration, this makes it possible to navigate straight drives with lengths of up to 400 m using this cost-efficient option with little installation effort.
