The bending radius holds significance in pipe jacking and direct pipe installation, defining the smallest curvature radius within which a pipe can flex without risking damage. To ensure that the TBM does not exceed the smallest curve radius, an automatic monitoring system is required that displays the radius to the machine operator in real-time to ensure precise control.

TUnIS.arc has been developed to provide the machine operator with most precise data to keep the TBM within the permitted radius range. Integrated into the TUnIS Navigation MT platform, the assistance system supplements the main navigation system with extensive data on the curve radius for precise tunnelling.
