We are proud to use our segment documentation system (SDS) to support extensive segment production for Cairo Metro Line 4, which provides reliable quality management for the project as well as vast knowledge and experience.
Cairo Metro Line 4 is the crucial link connecting 6 October City and New Cairo to the broader Metro network. This line is vital in serving densely populated areas and is anticipated to carry some 2 million passengers per day.
With 18 km of tunnels and 17 stations, production of the approx. 100, 000 concrete segments for the tunnel lining was split between four contractors: Petrojet, Concord, Hassan Allam, and Arab Contractors.
Improving concrete segment quality
To ensure efficient and reliable segment production for this mega project, all four companies use our proven Production and Logistics Management System, (SDS), as well as other equipment from VMT. SDS manages and tracks the lifecycle of every segment from production to installation in the tunnel, ensuring compliance with quality and documentation standards, optimising resource use, preventing errors and thus reducing costs.

Our customers in Cairo particularly appreciate our on-site presence and the training we provide for users of the SDS system. We support our customers until everything works and every move is right. As well as high-quality equipment, we think it is important to provide reliable service and knowledge transfer at every stage of the collaboration:

In Cairo, our customers leverage synergies to enhance segment production efficiency. Partnering with their subcontractor ECPC, Hassan Allam and Concord share the SDS server, production facility and crew. An approach that aligns perfectly with SDS.
