Precise guidance and digital workflows for Montréal’s Blue Line Extension

The launch of the tunnel boring machine Lisette marks an important milestone for the Blue Line Extension project in Montreal.

The TBM will excavate around 4.6 kilometres of the planned 6-kilometre tunnel extension towards Anjou, installing approximately 14,300 concrete segments and excavating around 300,000 cubic metres of rock along the way. To support both the TBM and conventional tunnelling activities, VMT is providing a comprehensive portfolio of navigation and digital construction solutions.

Proven systems for the TBM drive

Our customer relies on a navigation and monitoring package for the TBM drive, including a TBM navigation system, ring sequencing, automatic tail skin clearance measurement, segment tracking and digital analysis via HK.Connected.
These systems support precise guidance, quality control and transparent project documentation throughout the process, while providing centralised access to project information for authorised stakeholders.

Guidance for conventional tunnelling

For the conventional tunnelling sections, VMT is supplying two TUnIS Navigation Roadheader systems and two TUnIS Navigation Rock Bolter systems, as well as a central CT Navigation Office solution for coordinated data management and reporting.
These systems facilitate precise excavation and rock support installation, ensuring consistent documentation and providing a basis for decision-making with the help of our user-friendly analysis tool.
