Discover automation and digitalisation in tunnelling live at STUVA 2025

At this year’s STUVA Exhibition in Hamburg, VMT will present how automation and digitalisation are shaping the future of tunnelling. Visitors can experience how VMT’s innovative systems support large-scale tunnelling projects including TBM drives, tunnel lining segment production and conventional tunnelling, with solutions for automated surveying, data management and quality control.

Smart systems for connected construction sites

Across all tunnelling disciplines, VMT combines digital technologies with practical jobsite expertise to make complex construction processes more transparent and efficient.
At STUVA, the focus will be on the latest developments in Conventional Tunnelling, where automation and real-time data collection can fundamentally transform daily work underground.

Visitors can explore two new systems that mark the next step in VMT’s CT portfolio:

  • CT.Connected: the new app-based software module for real-time digital documentation of work cycles. Designed to replace manual reports, CT.Connected enables instant data sharing between the tunnel, project office and stakeholders all over the world – for complete transparency and improved collaboration.
  • TUnIS Navigation Excavator: a new navigation system for tunnel excavators that enables precise, automated excavation and enhanced safety at the tunnel face. By providing real-time visualisation of the cutting process, the system supports faster profiling with less rework and reduced material.

Both systems demonstrate how automation, digital tools and real-time data make conventional tunnelling smarter, safer and more efficient.
